Mehnaz Malik

Mehnaz’s love of art, fashion and interior design started at an early age, but her path to a career in interior design was not linear. Growing up as a first-generation immigrant from Pakistan, raised by a single mother of three, Mehnaz’s sense of pragmatism overruled her passion for design as she decided to complete her studies in business from McGill University and IESEG. This led to the first chapter of her professional life, working with Fortune 500 companies as a management consultant. Through the years, Mehnaz honed her skills in project management, client service, communication and problem solving. After designing and renovating three of her own residences and helping friends with their homes, Mehnaz decided it was time to turn the page and pursue her calling in interior design. As a life-long learner, she enrolled at George Brown College to further her technical skills in interior design. She launched Natari Design in 2014, naming the studio after her daughters, Natasha and Aryana.

Mehnaz lives in Toronto with her husband, her two teenaged daughters and her Labradoodle. She understands first-hand what it is to design for a busy family lifestyle without compromising on style.

Mehnaz is an avid traveller, something she inherited from her adventurous mother. She credits her diverse cultural experiences for her design aesthetic. She obsessively seeks design inspiration and bespoke treasures on her travels, continuing to educate herself and to evolve her design eye.
